Abstract: Water-jet machine is commonly used in industry. This kind of machine can be operates in many types of design and material of product. Generally, there are two types of water-jet machining which is Water-jet Machining (WJM) and Abrasive Water-jet Machining (AWJM). The objective of this study is to develop a new method water-jet clamping for water jet machine. This work is focused on to produce and design a new clamping method for waterjet machine. Moreover, we proceed to choose suitable material can be uses to produce waterjet clamping. Furthermore, we have to analyze the efficiency of the clamp to hold the workpiece. Finally, to determine the capability of the clamp to hold various of thickness and the size of the workpiece. It is expected that the water-jet clamping can afford to clamp the workpiece in various of thickness and size of the workpiece. In conclusion, through this project we have to produce a new clamping method for water-jet which is to fulfill industry requirement.

Title: Synthesis of the Composite of Zeolite and HVS Paper Waste as Green Material for Absorbing Noise
Author(s): Hidjan, Sutanto
Pages: 6-10 Paper ID:180701-4949-IJET-IJENS Published:Febuary, 2018
Abstract: The combination of porous zeolite and vibrous paper is considered to be an alternative material that can be used for reducing noise. The purpose of the investigation is synthesizing and characterizing an acoustical composite based on Activated Zeolite and HVS Paper Waste as building material component for noise reduction. Synthesizing each sample was conducted by chemical and mechanical mixing, and characterizing process was carried out by using EDS, FTIR, SEM and Impedance Tube. The absorption coefficient of the composite was measured in the frequency range between 125 Hz up to 6000 Hz and the result shows that it has significant value for absorbing noise at the audible frequency range between 1200 Hz to 2500 Hz.

Abstract: Manufacturing and workshop practices have become important in the industrial environment to produce products for the service of mankind. Clamping in milling usually use tools and holding devices such as vise to clamp workpiece. The purpose of this project is to develop and optimize for portable vacuum clamping. The method is to develop and optimize of apply the vacuum clamping method on milling machine. Then, the design of the vacuum clamping is being optimized. After product is finished, a testing is done on the vacuum clamping to evaluate and experiment the result of product. The result shows that vacuum clamping has better surface roughness result which total of 1.696μm. As a conclusion, all the various result of analysis is taken and vacuum clamping can be able to be apply and used for teaching purpose.

Abstract: A machine vice is a clamping device used to hold a workpiece securely when operating a machine tool, such as a drill press or milling machine. However, there are limitation on the thickness of thin material by using the vice that are available in milling machine. The vice can clamp the minimum thickness 3mm and above. The purpose of development of magnetic clamping is to clamp the thin and small part of magnetize material only. The objectives of this study are to develop the magnetic clamping for milling machine. This work is focused on develop a magnetic clamping, modify the design of existing product in the lathe machine that had been develop by the previous student into the milling application. Next, choose the right material in developing the magnetic clamping. It is expected that the results of magnetic clamping can attach the small and thin part on it. This development is a new pattern of magnetic clamping in the faculty. The result of cutting parameter and the surface roughness, Ra was obtained, and the data was tabulate into the table.

Pages: 23-27 Paper ID:182701-3939-IJET-IJENS Published:Febuary, 2018
Abstract: The research of coastal abrasion prevention on Kodingareng Keke Island aims to analyze types and methods of coastal protection in an effort to mitigate major coastal areas damage to coral reef ecosystem, overcoming the danger of abrasion susceptibility and sedimentation around the island and assessed coastal abrasion prevention methods in the study area. The research method used in the form of measurement and data retrieval directly in the field and continued processing data in the laboratory equipped with previous research data, which produces the types and methods of countermeasures. The main factors affecting the shape and shifting of sand sediment is the waves in the western seasons (October-April) that cause abrasion in the western and southern parts of the island. Based on the island's hydrodynamic conditions, it is proposed the installation of break water, revetment and seawall as well as the planting of mangrove trees around the platform of the island. The research of this study are expected to be useful for the government and stakeholders in terms of handling coastal areas, as a reference for policy making and control measures in an effort to overcome coastal abrasion in order to preserve the environment can be maintained, considering the area of research is a tourist area and as the object of research and location of field practice of students who need attention.
