Abstract: The considerable increase of mobile device users in recent years causes a strong demand on secured wireless bank services and reliable mobile commerce (m-commerce) applications. Since mobile payment (m-payment) & banking is a critical part of most wireless information services and mobile commerce applications, how to build secured m-payment systems becomes a research hotspot. This work presents an effective mobile payment system (MPS) in existing wireless insecure environments using mobile devices. The proposed framework provides a secure and convenient payment mechanism.

Abstract: Nowadays, due to enormous growth of web users many services in the internet including Email, search engine, social networking are provided with free of charge. With the expansion of Web services, denial of service (DoS) attacks by malicious automated programs (e.g., web bots) is becoming a serious problem of web service accounts. CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) is a human authentication mechanism that generates and grades tests to determine whether the user is a human or a malicious computer program. These tests are easier for humans to solve and tough for automated bots. According to our study, the existing CAPTCHA techniques tried to maximize the difficulty for automated programs to pass tests by increasing distortion or noise. Consequently, it has also become difficult for humans too. In our proposed solution, we try to make use of human cognitive processing abilities into our CAPTCHA design. The suggested approach move and select is a 2-layer test, desired to improve security and reduce the solving time of human. In the result section we have studied both the usability and security issues of our design. The user studies indicate that this CAPTCHA can be solved with 99.04% average success rate in less than 10 seconds.

Abstract: The ability to detect smoke and fire in an early stage plays important roles for securing life safety of building occupants. Smoke and fire detectors installed in today’s building are considered as point detectors. In case of fire, dependend upon the location of the fire origin, it may take sometimes for the room temperature to rise to the detector setting point or for the smoke to reach the detector. In recent years, the application of image processing algorithms for automatic video smoke detection continued to gain a momentum due to its capability to overcome the major drawbacks of the traditional smoke and fire detection methods. This paper explains the laboratory experimental works on smoke optical density measurement and video image processing of early smoke plume release. Using an NYA 1.5 mm2 PVC coated - cable fire experiment, a comparison of the use of convensional smoke detector and video based smoke detection using CCD camera were also discussed. Both approaches provide a means of obtaining criteria for the activation of video based smoke detection which may apply both smoke area, volume and smoke density. The cable fire experiment is a promising method for comparing the video based system with conventional video detector.

Title: Multi-Agent System for Negotiation in a Collaborative Supply Chain Management
Author(s): Hussein A. Rady
Pages: 25-35 Paper ID: 117805-0303-IJVIPNS-IJENS Published: October, 2011
Abstract: To improve the performance of Supply Chain(SC) decisions, agents technology is slowly becoming the best alternative . In general, most of the components in Supply Chain Management (SCM) work in isolation and achieving coordination among SCM partners turns out to be a difficult proposition. But in a multi-agent system (MAS), an agent while making a local optimal decision, it sees how it will effect the other agents and in case required it coordinates with other agents to workout for a new alternative. In SCM, what is required is how to improve the performance. Today SCM needs to work in coordination with various like minded organizations to produce and supply to multiple market. In such circumstance MAS, with beneficial features like autonomous, collaborative, coordinate and intelligence with ability to work in a distributed environment provides a best platform to make SCM performing at its best. Supply Chain Management is a set of synchronized decision & activities, utilized to effectively integrate suppliers, manufacturers, transporters, warehouses, retailers & customers so that the right product or service is distributed at the right quantities, to the proper locations & at the appropriate time, in order to minimize system wide costs while satisfying customer service level requirements. In this paper, a Multi-Agent System to support Supply Chain Management was proposed. The proposed model consists of seven agents that are working together to maintain supplying, manufacturing, inventory and distributing. The main operations of the software agents include: (1) managing all other agents (2)receiving orders (3) check the inventory (4) issue the order of raw materials from suppliers (5) production (6) financing (7) storing the information of stock, components and material. In addition to communication protocols among agents.
