Abstract: This paper critically reviews electrokinetic flow mechanism (diffusio-osmosis) of electrolyte solutions in micro/nano channels. We have attempted to show the complete analytical derivation and the missing steps from previous literature to obtain diffusio-osmosis electric potential and velocity distribution of an electrolyte in a fine capillary slit. Diffusio-osmotic transport occurs due to the presence of a charged surface (electrostatic interactions between surface and electrolyte) which is induced by the imposed electrolyte concentration gradient. Electrostatic and induced potential distribution and velocity distribution were determined from using Poisson, linearized Poisson–Boltzmann and modified Navier–Stokes equations, respectively. Various assumptions such as having a constant concentration gradient imposed along the axial direction have been considered to ease our calculations. It was found that normalized induced electric field increases with an increase in the electo-kinetic distance from the center to a maximum value at the slit wall; and normalized velocity decreases monotonically with the increase in the electro-kinetic distance. The effect of the induced electric field was found to be of dominant significance on the diffusio-osmotic flow.

Title: Adsorption of 4-Chlorophenol from Simulated Industrial Effluents Using Cuscuta Seeds (Batch and Column Study)
Author(s): M. Abdelkreem
Pages: 10-18 Paper ID:181103-7575-IJET-IJENS Published:June, 2018
Abstract: This study investigates the possibility of using cuscuta seeds to remove 4-chlorophenol from industrial aqueous effluents. The removal of4-chlorophenol was studied using both batch and fixed bed processes.Batch adsorption studies were performed by changing parameters as contacttime, initial pollutant concentration, degree of agitation and mass of adsorbent. Fixed bedadsorption runs were performed by varying many column parameters aspollutant initial concentration, solution flow rate, and bed height. The amount of 4-chloro phenol removed was increase as the contact time increases; pollutant initial concentration increases; degree of agitation increases; the amount of adsorbent increases; column bed height increases and solution flow rate decreases. Theequilibrium adsorption data were fitted well to bothLangmuir and Freundlich isotherm equations and the isotherm parameters were calculated and Freundlich isotherm fits the data better. The kinetic data were fitted well to the pseudo second order kinetic model than the first order model. The results shows that cuscuta seeds can be used as efficient adsorbent for the removal of 4-chlorophenol from industrial effluents using both batch and continues operation moods.

Pages: 19-27 Paper ID:182303-6767-IJET-IJENS Published:June, 2018
Abstract: In recent years World Wide Web has tremendous growth in the volume of information that makes very difficult to locate information that is relevant to user’s interest. The search engine is the most important tool used to discover information in World Wide Web, but they are not appropriate nowadays as they do not crawl the deeper web [1]. Hence the concept of Meta search engine that is built on top of traditional search engines is adapted. This paper is aimed at the design and development of Meta search engine framework using horizontal partitioning relevancy criteria and result integration factor algorithm for efficient data retrieval. The input query given by the user gets forwarded to selected member search engines namely Google, Yahoo, and Bing. The data retrieved from member search engines are fused/merged and stored in the database. The proposed Meta Search engine framework has two core operations namely pruning and result integration. The data stored in fusion database is pruned by removing the null and irrelevant data by applying data validation and proposed “Horizontal partitioning relevancy criteria” algorithm. The pruned data is given as an input to result integration that performs re-ranking by applying result integration factor algorithm for effective display of the relevant content as per user’s interest.

Title: Combination of the IPA-SWOT-AHP Models For the Formulation of the Road Network of Development Policy (A Case Study in Merauke Regency, Papua Indonesia)
Author(s): Muh. Akbar, Muhammad Yamin Jinca, Jamaluddin Rahim
Pages: 28-34 Paper ID:183403-5757-IJET-IJENS Published:June, 2018
Abstract: Merauke Regency has 1.2 million hectares of agricultural potential, potentially producing around 5.2 million tons of paddies per year, equivalent to 5.41 percent of national rice production. The development of road infrastructure has not been able to support Merauke as National Food Barns, resulting in a lack of distribution of logistics. Limited development budgets require a planning strategy with effective development priorities. Based on the results of the analysis of Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and the SWOT analysis (Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) recommended an aggressive strategy for the development of road infrastructure. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) used indicates that the main priority for the development of the road network is a Tanah Miring road segment, Semangga road, Kuprik road and Kurik road section, the next priority as support is Salor road and Wendu road segment.
