Abstract: Super-regenerative oscillator (SRO) is widely used in many applications of short-range, low-power wireless systems due to its simple implementation and improved performance for a given power budget. This paper presents the modeling of a quenching oscillator used for data transmission in low power super-regenerative trasceivers. First complete anlytical derivation for the model is demonstarted. The proposed model describes the oscillation frquency, settling time and output signal amplitude. Relying on the derived model, MATLAB simulation is carried out and the output quenching signal is obtained for MICS band 400 MHZ on-off keying to check the spectral requirements of the transmitted signal is obtained.
Keywords: Low power, on-off keying, quenching oscillator, super-regenerative transmitter.
