Author(s): Mamoun Hussein Mamoun
Pages: 1-4 Paper ID: 110303-2727 IJVIPNS-IJENS Published: June, 2011
Abstract: This paper presents a New Technique for Route Selection (NTRS) in DSR routing protocol to minimize the load by choosing the most stable path. Our proposal mechanism estimates the stability of the path by means of the received signal strength. Simulation results are used to draw conclusions regarding to use our proposed technique in route selection with DSR and compared it with the standard DSR protocol. Conducted experiments showed that our proposed algorithm exhibits superior performance with respect to reactive DSR routing algorithm in terms of packet lost, end-to-end delay and routing overhead.

Title: Establishing Link between IPv6 Networks Using IPv4 Clouds
Author(s): Junaid Qayyum, Fayyaz Gul
Pages: 5-13 Paper ID: 112703-8484 IJVIPNS-IJENS Published: June, 2011
Abstract: Migrating from IPv4 to IPv6 in an instant is impossible because of the huge size of the Internet and of the great number of IPv4 users. Moreover, many organizations are becoming more and more dependent on the Internet for their daily work, and they therefore cannot tolerate downtime for the replacement of the IP protocol. As a result, there will not be one special day on which IPv4 will be turned off and IPv6 turned on because the two protocols can coexist without any problems. The migration from IPv4 to IPv6 must be implemented node by node by using auto configuration procedures to eliminate the need to configure IPv6 hosts manually. This way, users can immediately benefit from the many advantages of IPv6 while maintaining the possibility of communicating with IPv4 users or peripherals. Consequently, there is no reason to delay updating to IPv6! This paper synopsises describes IPV6, Features, Benefits, Tunneling and the consequently solution for establishing link between IPV6 and IPV4.

Pages: 14-18 Paper ID: 114203-5959 IJVIPNS-IJENS Published: June, 2011
Abstract: One of the most active research areas for computer science and telecommunication researcher is the wireless sensor networks. Usually after the deployment of sensor nodes in the hazardous, hostile or remote areas, these nodes work on their own. These sensors nodes will have to perform their function with scare and none replenish able power resources. One of the main design objectives for these networks is Energy efficiency. This paper presented the obstacle and challenges in the design and development of power aware medium access control protocol for wireless sensor networks. In this paper we depict numerous medium access control protocols for the sensor networks, and highlight their potency and limitations wherever possible. In the end some future research directions are describe for the design of medium access control protocol for wireless sensor networks.

Pages: 19-26 Paper ID: 115903-6060 IJVIPNS-IJENS Published: June, 2011
Abstract: Cranial ultrasound scans are very essential part of the routine investigation of neonatal intensive care. The scan ultrasound image sequence are not only used for real-time diagnosis but also recorded for future diagnosis, offline analysis of ultrasonogram images and the study of tissue velocity in neonatal cranium. Tissue motion in neonatal cranium is an important physical parameter in discussing the pulsation strength of newborn baby for paediatric diagnosis. In this paper, we analyze and visualize the neonatal brain tissue motion caused by artery pulsation of blood flows from a video stream of ultrasound image sequence by using 1D fast Fourier transform in brightness mode for future diagnosis. The analysis has the advantages of observing pulsation amplitude of pulsatile tissues in different coronal and sagittal sections which may strongly contribute paediatricians in diagnosis of newborn baby's ischemic diseases. In our method, we analyze and visualize the tissue motion of different coronal and sagittal sections of normal and asphyxiated neonates.

Title: Automated Oil Palm Fruit Grading System using Artificial Intelligence
Author(s): Z. May, M. H. Amaran
Pages: 27-32 Paper ID: 117203-3636 IJVIPNS-IJENS Published: June, 2011
Abstract: This project deals with the ripeness of oil palm fruit. The current procedure in the palm oil mills is grading the oil palm fruit manually using human graders. This method is subjective and inconsistence because each graders has its own techniques and may vary from each other’s. Hence, it affects the quality and quantity of the oil that can be extracted. In this project, a new model of automated grading system for oil palm fruit is developed using the RGB color model and artificial fuzzy logic. The purpose of this grading system is to distinguish between the three different classes of oil palm fruit which are underripe, ripe and overripe. The ripeness or color ripening index was based on different color intensity. The grading system uses a computer and a CCD camera to analyze and interpret images correspondent to human eye and mind. The computer program is developed for the image processing part like the segmentation of colors, the calculation of the mean color intensity based on RGB color model and the decision making process using fuzzy logic to train the data and make the classification for the oil palm fruit. The program developed has been able to distinguish the three different classes of oil palm fruit automatically with 86.67% of overall efficiency. This project provides a very good technique to standardize the oil palm fruit grading system over a large area and the research will continue to normalized the system to be able to use under different source of lighting.

Pages: 33-39 Paper ID: 1111003-7676 IJVIPNS-IJENS Published: June, 2011
Abstract: For a broadband wireless standard such as WiMax, security is important and must be addressed. This is to ensure wide acceptance both from the perspective of the end users and the service providers. In order to compete with existing broadband cable or DSL services, the WiMax network must offer comparable security. We discuss the WiMax security mechanisms for authentication, encryption, and availability. We also discuss potential threats to WiMax security. As a promising broadband wireless technology, WiMax has many salient advantages over such as: high data rates, quality of service, scalability, security, and mobility. Many sophisticated authentication and encryption techniques have been embedded into WiMax but it still exposes to various attacks in. This report is a survey of WiMax and its security vulnerabilities found in WiMax network.

Pages: 40-49 Paper ID: 1110203-4949 IJVIPNS-IJENS Published: June, 2011
Abstract: The accuracy of immunohistochemical image antigen determination is very important in reporting result immunohistochemical examination. The previous studies [5], [10] have not been succeeded to determine such accuracy. The failure is caused by the characters in the image cells vary widely in shape, size, cell type, outward color appearance, and the huddled cells. EsFuMos method that uses fuzzy inference system is proposed to extract the cells, obtain cell morphology, and watershed separating huddled cells. The experimental result of comparing EsFuMoS method with MoFSoTH method [5] and the NN method [10] shows that EsFuMoS method is the most successful method to determine positivity. Meanwhile for huddled cell separation, EsFuMoS method success rate is 77.63%. Lack of EsFuMoS method is having an error in cell separation, and not able to lift the weak negative cell nucleus. According to pathologist, this method works very helpful. But it needs to be improved by paying close attention to the character of the cell membrane and weak cell nucleus.
