Abstract: The 430MHz high efficiency RF transmitter for wireless body area network in medical application is presented in this paper. Transmitter architecture with high energy efficiencies is proposed to achieve high data rate with low power consumption. In conventional transmitters, the oscillator and power amplifier are turned off when the transmitter sends 0 data. The required time for ON/OFF LC-oscillators is higher than the other blocks of transmitter. In the proposed transmitter low power ring oscillator is proposed. All blocks of TX are turned off when “0” data is sent. The transmitter consumes 2.3 mW with 60 Mbps data rate and energy consumption 42 pJ/(bit×mW) per transmitted bit with -0.37 dBm output power. The proposed transmitter designed in 0.18µmCMOS technology.

Author(s): H.G.Zaini, M.K. Metwally, Mahrous Ahmed
Pages: 6-11 Paper ID:142903-6868-IJECS-IJENS Published: June, 2014
Abstract: This paper presents a torque and flux control method for an induction motor drive. The control method uses the torque and speed estimation to control the load angle and to obtain the appropriate flux vector trajectory from which the voltage vector is directly derived based on direct torque control methods. The voltage vector is then generated by a hybrid multilevel inverter with lower power electronic components. The inverter high quality output voltage which leads to a high quality IM performances. Besides, the MLI switching losses is very low due to most of the power cell switches are operating at nearly fundamental frequency. Some selected simulation results for are presented.

Title: XML Technology

Pages: 12-16 Paper ID:143803-7272-IJECS-IJENS Published: June, 2014
Abstract: XML, the eXtensible Markup Language is an open and flexible standard created by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) in early 1998 for storing, publishing and exchanging any kind of information. It has been amazing to see how quickly the XML standard has been developed, and how quickly a large number of software vendors have adopted the standard. The XML has been recently understood as a new approach to data modelling. A well formed XML document or a set of documents is an XML database and the associated DTD or schema specified in the language XML Schema is its database schema. Implementation of a system enabling us to store and query XML documents efficiently (so called native XML databases) requires a development of new techniques and is of great importance in the world of information technologies today. In this work we briefly review XML; we include some basic knowledges that are required to understand the XML technology. We conclude that XML will be as important to the future of the Web as HTML has been to the foundation of the Web; XML is the future for all data transmission and data manipulation.

Abstract: The design of on chip interconnection architecture (NoC) should carefully take on consideration both hardware and communication constraints in order to build up a system that meets quality of service requirements. In the NoC architecture, the on chip switch available hardware and software resources drive up the global performances of the communication processes. Therefore it is crucial, before the physical design process, to carry out the required capacities such as buffer depth and management-tasks of a ?it. In fact, one of the most critical parameters that can affect communication characteristics are the available memory space in addition to ?it-time processing according to a given scheduling approach. This paper deals with these concepts. It presents a study of mesh NoC using Network Calculus (NC) theory. We aggregate the individual temporal properties of each component given in switch model to obtain the formula of backlog size and the delay bound. Second we apply theses formulas to calculate the maximum end-to-end delay for NoC 2 ×2 communication scenarios and the buffer requirement on such switch. This helps to specify the best physical and logical characteristics that can achieve enhanced performances.
Keywords: Network on Chip (NOC) and Network Calculus.

Pages: 26-30 Paper ID:149403-7272-IJECS-IJENS Published: June, 2014
Abstract: This paper objective is to propose a LFC mechanism for BSS and Diesel units for a remote and isolated microgrid scheme. The microgrid scheme included a BSS, two Diesel units and two solar panels. The proposed LFC mechanism is implemented in a decentralized fashion. The proposed mechanism was tested in different operating conditions, variable power demand and emergency conditions when one or more of the generation unit is lost in every case. Results illustrate that under all situations the proposed system controls the frequency of the microgrid system efficiently. Simulink and SimPower environment is used to develop the microgrid model and the proposed control mechanism.

Abstract: Item set mining has been an active area of research due to its successful application in various data mining scenarios including finding association rules. Though most of the past work has been on finding frequent item sets, infrequent item set mining has demonstrated its utility in web mining, bioinformatics and other fields. In this paper, we propose a new method based on Apriori algorithm to find infrequent item sets and non-present item sets. Finally, we analyze the behavior of our proposed method by considering a transactional data base.

Author(s): Heba A. Shawkey, Ghada H. Ibrahim, Mostafa A. Elmala, Dalia A. El-Dib
Pages: 36-41 Paper ID:147503-8686-IJECS-IJENS Published: June, 2014
Abstract: This paper presents a low power QPSK transmitter for MEDS band operating in 405-406MHz frequency range with 10 channels, with 100KHz channel bandwidth. RF carrier is generated using an injection locked ring oscillator. A digitally controlled programmable charge pump is used for channel selection. The four quadrant phase shift signals are generated by two RC-CR phase shifters. The transmitter uses a Gilbert cell mixer for QPSK data modulation followed by a nonlinear class E power amplifier, as it is compatible with the constant envelope of the QPSK signal. The transmitter is designed in a UMC 130nm CMOS process with 1.2V power supply. Simulation shows that the proposed transmitter has 2.8mW total power dissipation for an output power of 250uW achieving 5.7% EVM and it can modulate data rates up to 60Mbps.
